Cycle Friendly Environments

PRESTO is a European project which looks at competence building in cities to improve cycling. The project aims to offer a set of tools for technicians to create cycle friendly urban environments (including cycle infrastructure), to implement sound cycling plans and to start up targeted promotion campaigns.

PRESTO is a project of the EU’s Intelligent Energy – Europe Programme granted by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI).

The PRESTO website offers an overview of the project and its results.

Sustainable tourism is a French website which promotes responsible and sustainable tourism in France and all around the World. As such, the website promotes cycle tourism as an ideal way to discover the world while contributing to the development of local communities and to the protection of the environment.  The aim of the website is to provide the information to the public in order to raise the issue of sustainable and responsible tourism.

In collaboration with the French EuroVelo National Coordination Center, Départements et Régions Cyclables, has set two “dossiers” (in French) about cycle tourism. « Le printemps des bicyclettes » (bicycles’ spring) is a series of articles concerning the itineraries and stakeholders of cycle tourism in France. “Vélo & cyclotourisme : durable par nature” (bike and cycle tourism: sustainable by nature) gathers several articles dealing with the latest progress and the concept itself of cycling tourism.
